Toni and I took a trip to Mena, Arkansas to run some trails in the national forest.  We hooked up with Vickie and Rick Dawson, Don, Katie, and Jackie Parker, and some friends from Marble Falls, Ben and Linda Redler.

Here is a picture of the RV camp where we stayed.

This is the bridge that we crossed to get over the creek to the parking area.  It made Toni really nervous!

We made a short ride with Don and his family and Rick and Vickie.

There was really pretty views way up on the mountain!

And, of course two old folks having fun!!

The second day, Ben and Linda and Toni and I packed our lunches and decided to head out to Fource Mountain.  On the way, we were lucky enough to join five rigs headed the same direction and knew where they were going.

It was lunch time so we stopped for a bit.  This is Ben and Linda Redler.

The trails were tight and really wound back and forth.  The guys we were following were in some sort of race.  Not a light of sight seeing since we were moving so fast.  But..............we were afraid not to keep up since we didn't have a clue where we were.

This area is definitely Arkansas banjo country.  After a while, I ruined my left rear tire and we lost our guides since they kept going.  We had a map with us and between the four of us, we found our way out but had to drive 12 miles on a flat tire.  We finally got to a little church and some folks that were staying at our same campground came by and took me to get our trailer to haul our Maverick back to camp on.  Ben and the two girls waited at the church.  I will be better prepared next time!!
